Description: Eaton's Fine Letter Papers advertising stamp (NY Public Library) large die proof. Produced by the American Bank Note Company in 1938 for use by the Eaton Paper Company of Pittsfield, Massachusetts. The Poster stamps were included in the company's paper orders in 1939 and picture views of New York City. Their release was to coincide with the opening of the 1939 New York World's Fair. Please note! There are many contemporary "proofs" of portraits and engravings being passed off as antique on eBay. All of mine, unless noted in the title, are over a century old. Many came from the American Bank Note co. archive sales. Don't be fooled! Please check my other auctions, as I combine shipping. Thanks for looking!
