Description: Cards have 2 parts, embossed design on top, and a support card, very ornate with tflowers, doves, etc, plus a short message, some edge damage. Item 485900-2 ◊ Early-1900s Five (5) Vintage Die Cut Calling Cards, Embossed, Chromolithograph Floral Design Interesting and unique "Early-1900s Five (5) Vintage Die Cut Calling Cards, Embossed, Chromolithograph Floral Design." These wonderful Calling Cards are so typical of the turn of the Century. Each one consists of two parts. The first a dye cut and embossed design (which gives each of them a 3-D effect.) Secondly a die-cut support card (3 or rectangular, 1 is oval shaped, and 1 has no support card.) The top design is very ornate, and could contain flowers, a country scene, lace, a dove, a hand holding a bird, a book, or a flower basket. There is a short message on the front of each card, such as "Far from thee be every care". The first card is glued to the second cart only on the left hand side. And if you lift the right edge of the the top card slightly, you can see a message, the name of the sender, or sometimes nothing (no message.) Please see the photos above, if our description isn't clear. A picture says 1000 words.These cards are in very good shape considering their age. Because they are die cut, the edges tend to be fragile. You might notice some minor damage to a leafy section. Two of the support cards also show minor damage or creasing. Some show some mild soiling (mainly on the backs.)
