Description: A nice Chinese bronze censer likely post 1940 and maybe even contemporary (1960-90). I say this because I buy, sell and collect Chinese bronzes and they can be a real challenge to date them. I bought this one with another I am keeping. . Many Chinese kilns use apocryphal marks--there is nothing wrong about that in the arts but makes them much arder to date.. It is a handsome censer. Bronze with three mythical beasts. It is tri footed, conical feet and has been used--but I do not think for hundreds of years. I love its shape. Like a peach. Longevity, etc. It has a much earlier Xuande period mark. 2.5 inches tall, opening is two inches and wider through the middle.
