WHITNEY in the lower right corner, and though I can't say for certain, it appears to fit the biography of Charles Frederick Whitney famed New England watercolorist (1858-1949) noted for eastern landscape watercolors. This work has a framed size of 8-1/4" x 9-1/2" and an image size (including hand painted border) of 5-1/2" x 7-1/4." It has a creamy wooden frame with bluish trim. The reverse has a old partial framing shop label from somewhere in New York which appears to be of about '30's vintage. The work is light in color, bucolic and very appealing. Ready to hang.
