Description: Stone Blade Bone Handle Knife by Kenny Hull. Please check out the photos associated with this listing. I try to do as many photos as I can to give you, the buyer, the best possible idea of the item from several different angles, views and all sides. I try to make my description accurate and to provide a top quality and artistic knife to bring you, a fulfilling and satisfying experience. This knife is 7 inches long. The rare green obsidian blade is knapped by one of the top fog knappers to date using slightly different techniques than others. It is sharp and has very uniform flaking; it will cut leather!! The handle is deer antler from a naturally shed deer antler. The blade and handle are bound together with high strength epoxy and wrapped with artificial sinew which is finally stained and sealed. I used the entire antler to create this piece. The remaining pieces suspend the knife above the beautiful wood base. Thanks for looking My name is Kenny Hull and I'm an artist...I cant help but create art carving antler, whittling wood, drawing wildlife and other forms of art. Creating beautiful stone knives is another way I do that; bringing our past survival tools together with contemporary art ideals into a culmination of past meets present beauty, nostalgia and imagination. I've been knapping for over 27 years creating 10s of thousands of obsidian blades and knives in that span. I have made prop knives for movies such as Riddick 3 and Beyond the Wall of Sleep. My knives have been collected world wide since 1997 beginning in the Fiji Islands. Its my pleasure to bring to you a piece of finest quality in stone blade knives. The obsidian blade has a sharp edge that has been tested to cut hog leather and, yes, it does cut leather. It also has very even parallel flaking the full length of the blade. Most of the stone knives available today do not have the sharp edges I attain and insist upon. The handle is made from a shed deer antler sun-bleached and solid with a polished rosette. The haft is wrapped tight with sinew and makes a smooth transition from blade to handle bring to two together with line and flow.
