The first stone of this venerated Temple was blessed, and then laid on Monday May 3rd, 1740. A few clergymen from the Neri San Felipe Oratorio Congregation, which Father Alfaro belonged to, were there to witness the event The first phase was completed in eight years and so, on Sunday July 20, 1748 the consecration of the church was made with the placement of the image of Jesus of Nazareth in the main altar.
