Description: Striking example of industrial design, this metal waste basket was made by the Erie Art Metal Co in Erie PA between 1909 and 1915. This is an early model before they branded their waste baskets as Dan-Dee. A timeless example of turn of the century craftsmanship, examples have been exhibited at the Brooklyn Museum. This basket has a patent date of Jan 15 1909 stamped on the underside along with the company name. Good condition overall, no holes or breaks in metal. 14" tall, 13" wide at top, tapers down to 10" at bottom. Paint chips, some dings, overall signs of use that add to it's appeal.
