I rarely, if ever use the word pristine, excellent or like new, especially when talking about vintage. It sets up the expectation the item is like brand new. Jewelry and hats especially can show patina and/or wear, and often do. I sometimes use words like good/great working condition, great item, beautiful, lovely, stunning, etc. This again, does not mean perfect, untouched, or pristine. It means that as a reseller of vintage items I SEE and RESEARCH what else is out there and am offering an opinion. Your opinion may differ, as opinions often do, that's where you need to be diligent about asking specific questions and researching it on your own too, so that YOU have a comfort level with your bid and purchase. I prefer to sell items that do not have loose stones or crystals, or pins that come undone in a second! If this happens, I will disclose this to you.
