Description: Antique Victorian box, sewing box / jewellery box, bordoir box or similar, made of thin wood covered in fine leather under a gilt brass openwork overlay on 4 sides. The hinged lid has stuffed material on it which used to be velvet but is now very worn. On the top is a brass roundel with a print portrait of a gent covered with a celluloid window. The interior is red silk. The box is in poor condition. The base has a piece of cardboard glued to it, the padded lid is worn and ripped and the stuffing is coming out on one side especially. The portrait area is discoloured and scratched. The silk interior is frayed. However, it's a nice old original antique box that I think someone could restore. The brass overall is good, only a little bent on the base, maybe someone can use this? It's too good to dismiss as nothing, I like it alot, but I don't restore any of my items. I'm hoping someone can fix it or use the bits on it to use for something else. It measures approx 5. 1/4 inches x 2. 1/2 inches x 2. 1/2 inches in height. See pics. Please see the close up pictures for more detail. Pics taken next to an English 1p coin. I do combine shipping where possible to save on shipping costs. If you have any questions, please contact me via ebay messages.
