Antique Mason's Keystone Patent Nov 30TH 1858 Quart Jar Aqua

Description: A very nice Keystone Mason's Patent Nov. 30th, 1858 quart canning jar with a milk glass-lined zinc lid. It is marked on the bottom with the number 28 in the middle. The Keystone symbol indicates the Keystone Glass Works of Philadelphia, PA, made this jar during the 1870-1890s. (Source: Keystone Mason Jars, Part II Mason Fruit Jars Co. & Keystone Users. Bill Lockhart, Bill Lindsey & Carol Serr) Mouth-blown jars have a ground rim/lip and were usually blown in post-bottom molds, showing variable amounts of crudeness depending on age, manufacturer, and other factors (Source:The Society for Historical Archaeology). This canning jar is in excellent condition, with no chips, dings, cracks, or chiggers, with the exception of the rough lip. It features the waviness and little bubbles expected with glass jars of this era. Make this very nice jar part of your historical canning jar collection! All fragile glass items will be carefully packed to ensure a safe arrival. Each item will be double-boxed with plenty of bubble wrap and packing, plus marked FRAGILE.
