Description: For your review, a LARGE 32x31 fretwork with all the expected symbols and a few extra. George Washington is the theme with all the accoutrements including cannons, swords, eagles, flags, soldiers, cannon balls etc. The rarity of this piece elevates it to the level of museum quality. The frame has multiple repairs but still presents exceptionally well. I assume this is OOAk. The artist had a great deal of talent and an eye for detail. The fretwork is attached with very small brass nails to the backing board. The glass is conservation glass and the backing has been recently replaced. The blue color is tape the best I can tell. Going by the symbolism I’m hazarding a guess this was produced in the 1920’s but it could be earlier.
