Description: Lovely Antique Chinese Export Famille Rose Small Teapot - Late Qing c19thC. The teapot is hand painted in famille rose palette. The teapot is unmarked but to the best of my knowledge it is late 19thC and likely for South East market. Measures tip of the spout to the handle 5.75”L; and appx 3.5”H. Condition: Typical wear and use marks, wear on the underside, firing imperfections and iron deposit spots, loss to enamels. Minor scabs on the rims, handle and foot, some chipping on the spout. This piece was purchased at an estate sale in Washington DC, and belonged to Herbert E Horowitz - who lived and worked in China during 50s - 70a and who was and ambassador to Gambia during 1980s.
