Description: For Sale:Altec 1569a mono tube amps. Please read carefully.The amps will be sold AS-IS. No refunds.Amps work but need attention.Amps were restored about 25 years ago and have seen limited use on my big Altec systems. I placed them on variac. and brought them up to 110v. After that, I put them into the system and heard a heavy turbulence for first 4 seconds. They subsided after that and I played a full cd in its entirety. Not sure what the issue is but the amps should be checked and if necessary repaired by a qualified technician (unfortunately no one trustworthy in Albuquerque or Santa Fe -- so amps are being sold). By the way, sound of amps is excellent .. Room filling and VERY musical and true to life. Volume pots have been disabled. Removable Rails have been added to front panel to enable to amp to be placed veriically. Note. Amps are being listed on other sites at a discount and this ad maybe pulled at any time.
