It is also known as "liquid styrofoam" or "pour in place foam", although technically it is a urethane foam. It is frequently used as simulated wood in the furniture and picture frame industries. It can be used to support unusual structures including bathtubs and spas. AeroMarine Products' 8# pour foam is also good for special effects and is often used to make fake light weight trees. AeroMarine Products 8# polyurethane foam takes color very well. You will have a big blob of foam on the floor.Q. Is this pour foam compatible with styrofoam? A. Yes - it will not "eat" or dissolve styrofoam. If you have a large cavity to fill, it can be worthwhile to put some chunks of styrofoam in the cavity to take up space so you need less foam. Q. Do I need to paint or fiberglass over the pour foam? A. Absolutely if you need to cut into or sand the foam. Painting or glassing will seal the foam and prevent any water absorption.
