Description: This is Abstract 407, one of about a dozen expressionism paintings I completed a few years ago. The names I give them are just the date each one was completed. This was finished on April 7, 2019. I applied the paint using a palette knife only in about 20 applications of custom mixed colors. It is done on a panel and varnished. The sides are painted gloss white. The dimensions are 24 x 17 inches. My signature (Kevin Schrader) is on the back.The panels are reinforced tempered hardboard with 3 primer coats. I make these panels myself. Personally I do not use hanger wire on the ones in my studio because the panel can be hung by one of the reinforcing 1x2’s on the back directly on a nail or screw with no need for extra hardware. Also, because I detail around the edges of the painting there is no need for a frame if you don’t want one. They are completely finished and ready to display.
