Description: Using the mark on the bottom, this piece of Lenox dates from 1889-1906. It is part of their Belleek line, unfortunately they were sued for using that term and had to stop using the word Belleek. Large piece, standing 7.5" tall and about 6.5" at the widest point. The top is 5.5" from rim to rim and the base is 3.5" wide. Classical urn shape vase which possibly could be classified as a cachepot due to its size. Very translucent fine porcelain. Retailed by H. H. Battles of Philadelphia, I discovered they were a large florist/flower shop during the turn of the 20th century. Thus, the word Flowers on the base of the vase. Since this was probably a florist vase, and we know that most florist vase are trashed after the flowers fade, there are probably not many left around. The piece is undecorated which is also uncommon for the Lenox Belleek. Most pieces were hand painted or had applied gold accents, this piece shows the purity of the design and the fine quality of the porcelain that Lenox Produced at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th the 20th century. Of course, this is all by accident, since a decorated vase would have detracted from the flowers that were held inside.
