Description: 5 Civil War Battles Antique Patriotic Postcards.Atlanta,Fort Sumter. 1 Winsch This is a nice group of PATRIOTIC POSTCARDS that are ANTIQUE from the early 1900s. The postcards are colorful and attractive. These postcards show various CIVIL WAR battles. Three postcards show the battles in ATLANTA. One shows a cannon, another the fighting field, and one shows soldiers marching with the USA flag above. This postcard was published by John Winsch, a well respected and sought after publisher. Another postcard shows Fort Sumter at Charleston, SC. This postcard has an UNDIVIDED back. The last postcard shows battles with two ships sinking. These are labeled the Destruction of the Virginia, and Merrimac. This postcard is an ADVERTISING postcard, and on the back it has information about a Rheumatism remedy. The Winsch postcard is nicely EMBOSSED and it is enhanced with GOLD trim in the design. These are collector items because of their age, the attractive colors and gold trim, and their desirability to Civil War and Patriotic antique postcard collectors. The postcards are UNPOSTED (3) and POSTED (2). The postcards were probably "PRINTED IN GERMANY" during the "Golden Age of Postcards" (1908-1915). One has an UNDIVIDED back, and the rest have divided backs. These are BETTER POSTCARD and good for a collector. The postcards will keep their value! They are sleeved and in good condition. However, please expect some creases, cuts, stains, paper toning, and edge wear due to their age (over 100 years old!). The photos show the postcards and their backs.
