Description: 1979-81 xl500r engine This engine ran before, but does have some issues -has a ticking noise in the rockers, I put correct valve clearance and still had the ticking noise, I think it is a low oil problem on the rockers that could be coming from a bad oil pump but not 100% sure - On rocker cover where red arrow is there is a small crack, I used to just put gasket sealant there to stop leaking -Stator is good, no burnt marks as of last time checked - Cylinder head was completely redone by a machine shop, cylinder head has less then 20 hours since it was last rebuilt Not 100% sure if all gaskets still hold good, - Dip stick has crack on it - Top mount of rocker cover has been cut off Overall the engine is in fair shape but could use a tune up, what you see is what you get, bought as is
