1972 Fender Bassman 50 Silverface Tube Amp Head Model AA371 Vintage Rare Works!

Description: 1972 Fender Bassman 50 Amplifier Head Electric Guitar/Bass Amplifier Head Made in USA A friend of mine called me and wanted to sell me his Bassman 50 in the 1980’s. This amp had a lot of things wrong with it and I never played it; just added it to my collection. I did notice the cabinet had a split down the glue lines of the bottom of the cabinet. I removed the Tolex, screen and staples then left it. Recently my cabinet builder professionally re-glued/braced the wood; now it’s stronger than ever. He also re-applied and glued the original Tolex and re-stapled the original shielding screen to the inside top of the cabinet utilizing the original staple punctures. The serial number has been removed. The chassis has a stamp “SEP 19 1972 J. Castillo”. Fender discontinued the use of the drip edge cabinet in 1969. The latest the cabinet can be is a 1969 but this chassis is a 1972. This I didn’t notice when my friend sold it to me.Cabinet is 1967- 1969.Chassis is 1972. Recently ( Dec 2024 ) I took it to my current amp tech and he replaced the filter caps, power cord, new power tubes, tube shields, fuse, pre-amp tubes, powered it for an hour and checked operation. He says it’s now in great shape and sounds really good. The tube clamps are a bit loose so we will be shipping the tubes in their boxes.
