Description: For sale is a great 1953-C $2 Red Seal U.S. Note in crisp uncirculated condition. The Red Seal Notes are called "United States Notes" because they are currency that was actually issued by the United States and not the Federal Reserve, which is technically a separate entity. So any Red Seal Note was actually issued from the U.S. fiscal budget and not on loan from the Federal Reserve. Red Seal Notes are always fairly scarce because the Treasury would destroy these notes as they made they way back. The only two series years for $2 Red Seal Notes were 1953 & 1963. Lastly, another cool thing about the 1953 notes are they did not yet add the motto "In God We Trust" on the reverse as on modern notes. As you can see from the pics the note is in great uncirculated shape, which is getting tougher and tougher to find these notes in. It is very crisp and the white, green, and red colors are bold and vibrant. It has no folds at all, and has no rips, tears, or major stains. This is an great vintage Note great for any currency collection. Thanks!
