Description: Capture a piece of baseball history with this miniature, hand cut strip card , an exceedingly rare 1950 R423 Lou Gehrig #35 card. This authentic piece, featuring the legendary New York Yankees hitter, is a one-of-a-kind item from the Post-WWII era, preserved in exceptional MINT 9 grade by the Professional Sports Authenticator (PSA). It is the only graded 9 Mint card with the rare purple back! These miniature strip cards of "Baseball Stars" were inserted in capsules to be dispensed in vending machines. Produced by the Oak Sales Co., the 5/8" x 7/8" cards were issued in 13 card perforated strips in 1950. The thin stock paper cards features a black & white player photo, are numbered 1-120, followed by the players name, and at the very bottom a baseball play which is used to play a game, in this case “home run”.
