Description: 1941 Hermes Baby Portable Typewriter (Date is based on looking at typewriter database) QWERTZ (swaps location of y and z keys) keyboard with German umlaut characters for a, o and u. Size inside of case is 11" x 11.5" x 2 5/8". Double ink black and red ribbon. Serial number is 134298. Beautiful thing about this typewriter is that it's cover protected it so well from aging and damage. Ribbon moves freely and smoothly while typing. I cleaned the keys with rubbing alcohol and lubricated it with seeing machine oil to loosen up the keys. Some of the lesser used keys still have some stickiness. As you can see in the picture, I was able to type and use it.
