Description: 1910’s to 1920’s West Point real photo postcard. Cadets with Buffalo Soldier instructors. Appears the cadets wanted their instructors in the image and this was the best they could do. Has that feel. College Football Hall of Famer Earl Blaik is front center. Blaik was the coach of Army from 1941-58. 3 National Championships in that span. Postcard has stains, toning and wear. Markings on the back. Feel free to ask questions. I was contacted on this one with questions of the building in the background, possible stable on the right and possibly landscape of being West Point. This listing is absolutely not meant to deceive. While I admit I have never walked the grounds of West Point. I will also admit I have never heard of any information to show many of any this situation could or would be besides West Point. The postcard was produced between 1918-30. Earl Blaik was very much one of if not the big name in athletics during that era. The cadet in the center has the exact smile with the same exact story was creases as Blaik. You can practically count the teeth in each. Blaik did have a substantial Weat Point/US Army presence. Blaik obviously made it off the grounds at West Point at times for athletics alone. Again what situation could this be if it wasn’t West Point. Did the Buffalo Soldiers train off the campus? Could this be a drill at another location. If there is anything pointing to this being another location, I’m all ears.
