Description: Lewis Colt Albro and Harrie T. Lindeberg worked together at McKim, Mead and White before beginning an independent practice in 1906. This book is a compilation of some of their work together done on Long Island and in the surrounding areas of New York. Lindeberg, especially, specialized in “Country Homes” and it was not unusual for architects to put together these privately printed books for advertising purposes, showing off either finished works or plans for such. This is a great record of both an influential and stylish architect of the era as well as a record of high society decorating. In good condition, the front has some scratching and rub while there is what looks like a smear of white paint on the spine. It has some cracked gutters and pages trying to come loose. Has introductory text and the bulk of the book is photographs of various houses. Good Condition: folio: (12 1/4” x 9 1/2”): green publisher’s cloth with gilt outline and lettering on front: rub on front leaving pale smears: white smear at tail on spine: scratches on front and rear: bent corners with large bend on rear bottom corners: cracked gutters: fingerprints: light mustiness: deep green endpapers front and rear: “Domestic Architecture” Published for Private Distribution by Lewis Colt Albro and Harrie T.
