Description: The print offered here is a "humorous" depiction of an English tutor misbehaving with his female student who holds a book in her left hand. The cat sits undisturbed on the floor while the "lesson" takes place. The caption below the image is in French "Petit Maitre Anglais on bonne fortune" and in English (with a German spelling), "The Little Englisch Master in good fortune". Below the image to the left is a name that I have been unable to decipher for certain, or to find online: "Nelver" or "Netver" followed by "inv". I have been unable to find another online example of this print which is on laid watermarked paper. Any advice from an eBayer would be welcome. The dimensions of the print are: height 9 3/8 inches platemark and 10 5/8 inches sheet; width 6 3/8 inches platemark 7 5/8 inches sheet. This print is from my personal collection which I am beginning to sell off. Unless noted otherwise in the description, the prints, art and other items that I sell are not "reproductions". For example, offered maps are of the period. Please check my other listings for additional items of interest. I will combine shipping.
