Description: 18th Century Watercolor of the River Irthing, Cumberland United Kingdom 18th Century Watercolor of the River Irthing, Cumberland United Kingdom, titled on verso This is a lovely watercolor painting, very similar to another that I have listed with nearly identical composition and by the same artist, titled on verso "River Irthing, Cumberland" (some illegible annotations), with lake and mountains in the background, and some and cattle figures on a boat. This is likely from the late 18th century, as this was purchased at auction with a group of other watercolors and drawings (same paper, same hand, and similar size) and some of which were dated 1775-1790. Measurements:14 3/4 x 18 7/8 inches Condition: Good condition. Condition is commensurate with age and use. Creases, some tears on edges. Minor stains and scuffs throughout. Appears to have had border edges cut.
