Description: Back in the day, before movie newsreels and TV, these jugate stereo cards were released during presidential campaigns in order to give the public pictures of the candidates. Here are the 1892 democrat nominees, Grover Cleveland and Adlai Stevenson. Cleveland had been elected in 1884 and ran again in 1888, (we're putting a stereo card from that campaign on, too). But he lost in the Electoral College to the GOP candidate, Benjamin Harrison. So Grover took Ben on again, the year of this card, and ended up being successful. Which is why Cleveland is our only, two, non-consecutive term president. And the guy he ran with, here, was the grandfather of the 1950's presidential candidate of the same name, Adlai Stevenson. Much history with this. Too bad they obviously don't teach it to the kids anymore since they want to erase it all. This in nice condition but please enlarge our images to judge condition for yourself so you can be happy with your purchase. S & H on it will be $5.50, first class with tracking. We are members of APIC and sell only authentic presidential (and other collectible) material so buy with confidence, and we'll be happy to combine S & H costs on multiple purchases even though eBay says we won't. Just request a revised invoice from us before paying.
