Description: Rare 1818 Matron or Coronet Head Liberty Head Large Cent Nice Very Fine Condition For Your American Coin Collection-LC067 Details Description: A nice very rare and very fine copper 1818 Coronet Head or Liberty Head facing left large cent or penny. The coin itself is better than the scan shows and has very fine details. The date is very readable as is the word "LIBERTY". Liberty's ear and the hair around the ear is all there. As you can see from the photo, some details of the hair and ear are visible and the details on the reverse are also very bold and all there. The coin has wear commensurate with its age and circulated status. The coin is nicely toned and has good eye appeal. These coins were designed by John Reich.
