Description: This is a very beautiful antique Dutch needlework sampler dated 1762. It shows flowers, crowns, angels, bunnies, birds and people.Note the many birds in the border around the edge, including ducks and owls. This is very unusual. The sampler is stitched on linen cloth with multi-colored silk thread. It measures approximately 14 1/2 x 15 inches or 37 x 38 cm.The sampler is in good condition, considering its age. Please have a look at all photos. There is some minor loss of stitches. The colors of the needlework faded somewhat over the years, please compare the front and back of the sampler.
